Hypothetical monkeys inside a theoretical barrel pumped full of metaphorical alcohol.

And someone out there thinks this is a GOOD idea?

PETA thinks this is a bad idea, but do they really understand the inner workings of a monkey, or do they just like to fight?  Are they actually advocating on behalf of the monkeys, or do they simply say that is the case so that everyone will back down?

Is it not good if the barrel is filled with alcoholic monkeys, but sort of all right if the monkeys are drunk, but not confirmed alcoholics?

Do drunken monkeys display the same range of characteristics as drunken humans (the sappy drunk, the angry drunk, the bewildered drunk, etcetera etcetera all on down the line to the dead drunk)?

And why do we, as people, need a definitive answer?  Couldn’t we supply the barrel and the alcohol and take it to the monkeys and let THEM decide?  Righteous involvement for all simian species!

On that positive note, check out my latest story, “A Body and Nothing Else,” published by Drunk Monkeys.

Yes!  But she uses them for evil purposes!  Don’t trust her, don’t trust her!

Yes, indeedy, July went by in a flash, and suddenly, kapow, I realized, Oh my goodness sake, but that thar is one dead duck.  Or two living ducks.  Don’t forget that poison dart frog.  But he’s so ickle-bitty he’s a cutesy-wootsy.  Check out “Duck Week” in Full of Crow.  http://www.fullofcrow.com/fiction/archivedstories/713wilson/

Whoopsie and a pigskin handbag (which does not match this dress!)–I completely missed this li’l ol’ short story link.  But isn’t that what summer is for?  Pretending you’re suffering from the Alzheimer’s and making people all sorts of worried about your mental health?

Let me just say that today, my boss threw away a gay man’s banana, and I just know that’s something Freud would need to chew over implicitly, explicitly, and then write a little treatise for his garden-variety psych shelf.

But check out “Smart Buttons” in Punchnel’s!  And then tell me just how sorry you were that you did.  http://www.punchnels.com/fiction/smart-buttons/
